Meet The Staff

Debra King- Scheduling Coordinator:

Debra will most likely be the first person you meet when you come to our office.  She has been in the dental field for over 20 years so she has lots of experience!  She moved to the Foley area in 2015.  She and her husband, Eric, have one daughter and three grandchildren.  They love going to the beach and watching Netflix.  

Danyelle- Front Office and Dental Assistant:  

Danyelle has been in the dental field for 6 years working as both a dental assistant and front office coordinator. She is originally from Birmingham, AL and moved to the Gulf Coast in the summer of 2013. She and her husband, Drew, have one little boy named Greyson (1) . She has always had a passion for children and teeth, so what better place to work than a pediatric and orthodontic office?

In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, traveling, going to all kinds of sporting events, and spending time with her friends and family. She is so excited about being a part of the SeaSmiles team and can’t wait to see how the office grows.

Susan Johnson- Insurance Coordinator:

Susan has been in the dental field for 10 years.  She is originally from Beckley, WV and moved to Gulf Shores in the spring of 2007.  She and her husband, Joe, have two children: Alexis (24) and Zachary (19).  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, boating, and baking.  She is very happy to be a part of the Sea Smiles team.  

Baylee Stafford- Dental Assistant:

Baylee is a local from Elberta, Al, where she currently lives. She graduated from Foley High School and recently just started her journey in the dental field as an assistant. She enjoys working with children and therefore felt like Sea Smiles was the office for her! In her time away from work, Baylee enjoys playing with her dogs, Nellie and Trigger, traveling with her dad on hunting trips, fishing, going on the boat, and hanging out with her family and friends. 

Belen Chavez- Dental Assistant:
Belen was born in Mexico City, Mexico, but has been living in the Gulf Coast for over 20 years.  She completed her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science, with a certificate in Dental Assisting, from Gulf Coast Community College in 2017, and has been an assistant at Sea Smiles since then.  She enjoys working with children and aims to make their initial dental experience as pleasant as possible.  She hopes to educate them on the importance of developing and maintaining good oral hygiene habits.  She plans on attending hygiene school soon.  She also translates for our Spanish speaking patients. In her spare time, Belen enjoys working out, playing sports, reading books, and traveling with her husband.  


Mitzi Wooten- Dental Hygienist: 

Mitzi D. Wilson-Wooten is a native of Daphne, Alabama.  She graduated from Daphne High School with the class of 1993.  After high school, she earned my Associates Degree in Applied Science from SouthEast College of Technology in 1996.  She has 10 plus years in the Orthodontics field where she gained an interest in Dental Hygiene.  In 2006, she earned her license to practice Dental Hygiene from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  She has worked as a Dental Hygienist for 11 years and counting. 

She is the wife of Keidrick Wooten and mother of two beautiful girls. She attends Total Church Ministries in Mobile, Alabama, where she serves as the Trip coordinator/planner. She is so thankful she found her dream job here at Sea Smiles.

Erica Gates- Dental Hygienist:

Erica is from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She graduated from Gulf Shores High School in 2009. In 2013 she attended Lawson State Community College where she received her Dental Assisting Certificate. After working as an assistant for 2 years, Erica received her Dental Hygiene License through the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program. She has been in the dental field for 6 years and has a passion and love for dentistry. She enjoys the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends

Tonja Reid- Dental Hygienist:

Tonja began working in the dental field in 1995.  She attended UAB’s dental hygiene program and graduated in 1998.  She has experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry and enjoys working with patients with special needs.  She loves treating patients with the highest level of care.  Her favorite part of her job is gaining the trust of her patients, whether they are young or old.  She and her husband, Jason, have 3 energetic boys; Landon, Lane, and Landry.  They love being involved in CityHope Community Church.  They also love traveling, watching their boys play soccer, spending quality time with family and friends, and watching Alabama football.
